Queen Taken Chardonnay 2018, Oliver, BC - Checkmate Artisanal Winery
Pale lemon colour, bright and crisp showing some sense of viscosity
It’s gracefully fragrant
At first I had over-chilled the bottle so it was very conservative at first. It slowly blossomed into something quite spectacular. Like a masked skilled dancer telling a rich story through perfectly executed and expressive movements.
Discordian Chardonnay 2019 - Red Barn at Jagged Rock
It’s a complex and tranquil Chardonnay showing some likeness to Checkmate in terms of flavour profile. Very good quality, well balanced, its zen-like tranquility every lasting. Drink now.
Silent Partner Cabernet Franc - Red Barn at Jagged Rock
Very good quality, well balanced, it’s like a classic, tasteful, well-produced burlesque show. Vogue.
Drink now, may improve with 3-5 years of cellaring. I would love to see how the flavours will evolve with the tannins it has.
Off Centre Viognier 2019 - Red Barn at Jagged Rock
Was immediately captured by its beauty! I had to do a double take and a step backwards absolutely in awe. Outstanding quality, very well balanced, even at 14.9%, it was beautifully balanced and glamorous. Drink now but can develop for 3-5 years.
Transfiction Rosé 2020 - Red Barn at Jagged Rock
Note: It’s elegant yet substantial. Music playing, a book in hand, this is a great companion without any burden. Very good quality, well balanced, Drink now and relax.
Red Icon 2018, Penticton, BC - Painted Rock Estate Winery
Tasted on National Wine & Cheese day. Always offers great value even at its price point so I felt it’s fitting as the wine choice of the day.
