Zacapa 23

Intensly perfumed and gently warming. Lots of tropical scenery: ripe banana, rich vanilla, caramel, milk chocolate, dried plum, raisins, honey, maple, nuts, spices, and lots of sweetness.  On the palate it is rich, creamy, full bodied, smoothly warming with waves of flavour that don’t fade. I can almost hear the sound of gentle waves soothing the sands on the beach. An abundance of coconut and banana on trees just behind me. It is like having a Luau, let the feast begin!

Zacapa Rum is created in Guatemala, it is drinks giant Diageo’s premium Rum offering. It is created through years of harmonizing aging process called Solera just like how Sherry is made. It is a fractional blending technique that offers house expression consistently every year. Zacapa 23 blends rums that are between 6 and 23 years which are aged in a slow and graceful manner 2300 meters above sea level!  It’s quite impressive really.
